I didn't even know I needed these until I tried them — doodroo's metal ABS tips for the Apple Pencil. Ever since I swapped out the regular tips for these, my digital art game has hit a whole new level. And I can never go back to the regular tips!
Right out of the box, the tiny metal tips struck me as super sleek. Swapping the tips is super easy. The most challenging part was cracking open that packaging (which, don't get me wrong, was also pretty straightforward).
Initially, I was a little worried about scratching my screen, but it turns out, they don’t scratch at all. If anyone was going to scratch their screen with this, I would, as I am incredibly heavy handed while I draw. Just a heads up, I also have the doodroo screen protector.
I’m a bit of a haptics and texture nerd, so the sound of the tip against the screen was perfect – literally just like pencil on paper. The tip and screen protector combo really nails the paper sensation, making sketching feel so satisfying.
I really enjoy the precision I'm achieving with the ABS tips, it’s next-level. I’m a huge fan of adding lots and lots of whimsical details.
Compared to the regular pen tips, which are significantly chunkier, and just can't match the finesse these metal tips bring to the table.
Even after hours of drawing, these ABS tips feel amazing. No pain in my fingers, hand or write – no fatigue whatsoever. (I also use the silicone pen grip from doodroo, which definitely supports the drawing stamina).
Considering their longevity, the tips are a total steal. I’ll probably share the spare tips with my friends who are dying to try them. I'm pretty sure the one I have will last me ages before I need a new pack. And whenever that is, I’m never going back to the regular tips!
I can 100% recommend these doodroo ABS metal tips to anyone serious about their digital art, and who loves a good, super-detailed sketch. And bonus points if you enjoy the paper-feel.
