4 tips for maximizing productivity in public places

4 tips for maximizing productivity in public places

Working and studying in a park, a café, a library or in any other public place is something that can give a boost to everyone's creativity and concentration. Studying with our favorite cup of coffee allows us to face the day with a smile, as does being able to work in our favorite place, perhaps surrounded by nature. However, public places also offer thousands of distractions, problems that can cause us many headaches and many prying eyes 👀 Here, we offer some practical advice on how to deal with these small challenges, allowing you to work or study in your favorite places in the best possible way.

TIP #1

ORGANIZE YOUR TOOLS 🧩

Get ready beforehand

To work, study or create we always need some essential tools on hand for our productivity such as, for example, a laptop/MacBook, tablets, smartphones, some books, pens and more. Not being in the comfort of our home, we need to carefully organize and prepare everything we need – perhaps the night before – avoiding that we forget anything or waste precious time.

A BAG OR BACKPACK

Having a bag or backpack with multipurpose pockets is very important: they allow us to meticulously organize our tools 🤓 When you have a lot of books and notebooks to carry with you, the load will be much heavier and perhaps you will need a little more time to get organized. On the other hand, if you only need your tablet or iPad, you will probably only need the device and a Pencil.

DOODROO RECOMMENDS...

if you only need your tablet or iPad, we recommend a paper-effect film to write better, protect your device's screen and ensure better visibility. What's more, a skin for your Apple Pencil can give you a better grip when perhaps you are working at a desk. Finish off your organization with a snack, a power bank so your devices never run out of power and a pair of headphones.

TIP #2

MANAGE YOUR TIME ⌚

SET DEADLINES AND SCHEDULES

It is important to set deadlines for yourself, especially if you are the full master of your time. If you are heading somewhere that is not yet overly familiar, try to get a good idea of how long it might take you to get there, especially if it is a place you frequent on weekends: during the week you may run into different traffic dynamics. Set a schedule for yourself and stick to it, don't procrastinate 😉 and carefully evaluate the place you're going to so you can stick to your schedule. For example, if you are off to a café, take into account that maybe at certain times you'll have a harder time finding a place to sit.

TAKE BREAKS!!!

Also think about taking breaks, which are just as important as work time to ensure maximum productivity.

WHAT'S THE WEATHER LIKE?

Finally, also think about the weather, which is very important to assess if you want to be outdoors 🌳

TIP #3

BE READY FOR ANY INCONVENIENCE 🛡

GROUP EVERYTHING YOU NEED

Setbacks happen to everyone, but we can plan ahead and deal with them. If you know you are the kind of person who forgets to set their alarm clock or snoozes it one too many times, finding yourself doing everything in a hurry, then try to group all the things you need in one place the night before, or put them in your car already. This way, even if you are in a hurry, you won't forget anything 🏃‍♂

THINK ABOUT YOUR DEVICES

Always keep a charged power bank with you: maybe you were charging your smartphone during the night but, while you were
sleeping, there was a power outage and in the morning you wake up to find that it is almost dead (bad news if you were looking to use your smartphone as a hotspot).

VERY USEFUL THINGS

If you're heading outdoors and don't know if you'll find a comfortable place to rest your tablet, bring along a dedicated stand. Finally, if you are in a crowded place, your privacy may be at risk, but a privacy effect film may be the perfect solution for you. Thanks to these doodroo films featuring a dimming effect on the sides, those standing next to you will not see the content shown on your Microsoft Windows laptop or your Apple MacBook.

TIP #4

BE PATIENT ☕

Maybe today you won't find that perfect place of peace, tranquility and productivity you were hoping for. But that's okay, try another one or try it at other times of the day. Locating the ideal place to work or study can take time, but you will soon find it. However, by following these practical tips and using our range of doodroo products, you can get the best out of any place or make it good enough for your purposes 💛
